Make It Show - Day 3

Today I thought I would share the cards we made in the card class we ran at the Make It Show this weekend. The above card is in Concord Crush with Very Vanilla and a mat of Crumb Cake CS. I'd never used this Fine Flourish stamp but I am now totally addicted. It looks amazing stamped with glitter too, so I will try and do that soon.

This card also featuring the words from Punch Bunch, a Sale-A-Bration set. I love this set and am really sad to say that TODAY is the LAST DAY you can earn/get hold of this set. The sets will never appear in a future catalogue or promotion. Boo hoo! Email me if you'd like to make a £45 order today and get your hands on one of the sets before it's too late.
This is the second card that we made in the card class. The main image is from Fun & Fast Notes stamp set, a super-useful set that covers pretty much most occasions. Everyone had fun with blender pens to colour in their image with Pumpkin Pie ink. The DSP is Sweet & Sour speciality papers and the words are from Sincere Salutations.

The lovely but sadly absent Mrs Wonka sent me this Business Card Holder made using the SAB set, Bliss. Isn't it divine? I have taken it home to use in pride of place at my next workshop. Thank you Mrs Wonka! (Get wells soon too)
There was lots of interest in my Retreat Day in Ash on the 19th March - don't forget to book your place soon to avoid disappointment. Booking closes on 5th March.
I'll be back tomorrow to share the new promotion that will be running in March to check back here soon!

Make It Show - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Make It show! If we chatted in Farnborough this weekend - hello to you!!

Above is the card we had as a Make & Take this weekend. We had a 100 ladies (and a few guys) making this gorgeous card each day. The colour combo is Marina Mist & Certainly Celery. The main image is Pocket Silhouettes and the sentiment is from Perfect Punches. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the butterfly set but, isn't is pretty? Lots of punching and pretty ribbon too!

Tomorrow is Day 3 of the show and just the last two days of Sale-A-Bration too! If you'd like to take advantage and get your hands on one of the beautiful 4 sets up for grabs you need to place an order of £45+ with me. 9You can see more about the promotion by clicking on the orange button on the top left.)

Make It Show 2011

Today we were at the Make It Show in Farnborough. It was a busy busy day and I met some lovely people.
These photos were taken before the "maddness" began. All neat and tidy. We had a demonstration table, display area, Make & Take table and we also taught scrapbooking and cardmaking classes at the workshop area of the main venue.
If you are coming to the show this weekend, make sure you stop by and say hello as we're here on Saturday AND Sunday!!

Quilted cards

Today I'm preparing for a party I am doing tonight. The theme is sewing as many of the guests are quilters. I used a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers on how to make a quilted card and here is my result.... A little amateur! The lines became a bit wonky!! I just love these Nursery Suite papers. They're so much more versatile than just for baby cards. The colour are baja breeze, regal rose, chocolate chip and so saffron. Anyhoooo I decided to have another go and below you can see my next effort:
I'm much happier with this! The papers are Sweet & Sour DSP with Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla. Such bright cheery colours. The sentiment was from Oval All which co-ordintes beautifully with the large oval and scalloped oval punches. Yum!
Anyhow, back to Make It preparations. Munchkin has been under the weather with a nasty cough recently so preparations have been much slower than I'd hope but hey ho. Not long until the show starts!

For John

With all the prep for the Make It Show this weekend there's not been much time for crafting. However, I did receive a reminder today that I had promised these pictures!!

Above is Munchkin on her London train adventure last Thursday. She doesn't look quite sure, does she?
This was Munchkin on Saturday on her Grandad's computer! She's such a computer whizz!!
I'll try and make something to post on here this week... watch this space...

Belated surprise

Look what I found in my pigeonhole at work! My lovely friend Amy (who's unfortunately not well at the moment) left this for me on Monday!! She's used Sweetheart stamp set and punched hearts from Jolly Holiday DSP. Aren't those ladybirds sweet?
As you may have read yesterday we went up to London yesterday to see my sister. It was a day full of adventure as Munchkin had never been on a train before, nor the underground. Turns out that there are A LOT of steps on the underground!! Anyway, this adorable picture is Munchkin with my little sister trying to restrain her in the restaurant. There was a lot of exploring to do!
Hope your week has ended well and you're looking forward to a fun weekend.

Sweet little one

Some great friends of ours had a sweet little baby girl on Monday so this is the card I made for them. They've not named her yet as she was a bit of a surprise being 3 weeks early!!

I used a jumbo wheel to stamp these images using Sahara Sand. Originally I did it in Basic Black but it was much to harsh for such a delicate card. Then I used Blender pens to colour the images using So Saffron and Pirouette Pink. The sentiment is from a retired sentiment set and was stamped in Pretty in Pink to match the scalloped piece under the image.

The ribbon is quite over the top but I couldn't resist! It's Pretty in Pink satin ribbon which is just luscious!

Hope you are doing something nice today. We're seeing my sister which will be nice as she is such a doting Aunty!

So Happy For You (Both)

This is a card made for two friends of ours who finally got engaged! It's not a Valentine's romantic proposal as they've been engaged a few weeks but they've only just returned to the UK so we can congratulate them!

As you can see the basic card is based on one I did before inspired by Monica Gale. This time the colour scheme is Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. The patterned paper is Greenhouse Gala and I used Bliss and So Happy For You Sale-A-Bration stamp sets.
There's less than two weeks left to get your hands on these Sale-A-Bration sets so contact me to place an order of £45+ and you can pick which you'd like.
I used my crimper to make the card pliable so I could make it a border around the circle of card. By the way, I cut the circle of card out by using a button pot as a template (see, not just pretty buttons but a circle template too!)
I had a quick trip to Ikea today as I was in Southampton for work so I got Munchkin some new furniture. I'm sure you'll be seeing pictures of her playing with it all soon!

Good afternoon! I've been working hard on samples for my retreat day in March so I don't have much to show you... then I found this on my camera memory card. It's a card I made early last week based on one I saw on Shelli Gardner's blog. I used Vintage Vogue stamp set and Elegant Soiree DSP. The sentiment comes from one of the Level 1 hostess sets - it could be yours if you host a party/submit an order of £150+.

The card base is Sahara Sand with Early Espresso taffetta ribbon and a Marina Mist flower brad. I'm just loving those brads at the moment. They are like a focal point all on their own.
Here is the Munchkin this morning. She's taken to her dolly's pushchair but I think she might be a bit confused about what to do with it!!!
Have a good afternoon and see you again soon.

Did I post this before?

Yes I appear to be losing my marbles. I keep thinking I have posted this card before but I can't find it so I can't have! Oh well... here is a break from all the soppy hearts for all the Valentine haters out there.... This card is stamped with Notably Ornate - a fantastic stamp set that looks great stamped in Soft Suede like I have here. I've paired it with Baja Breeze and used a little Elegant Soiree DSP. Yum!!
Here is another adorable photo of Munchkin showing off her new shoes! Looking like butter wouldn't melt, don't you think?!
Have a lovely Valentines' Day (for those who love it!) and Happy Monday to everyone.

Two step hostess thank you

Hello and Happy Sunday! Today I have a card made with the Level 2 Hostess set, Fast & Fabulous. It's a fantastic two-step-stamping set. As per usual I free-styled and stamped by eye using Marina Mist and Soft Suede. The card base is Sahara Sand CS. The greeting was stamped in Soft Suede too and comes from the Sale-A-Bration set So Happy For You.

I played around with my spritzing tool, pearls and punches plus a little Marina Mist ribbon for the finishing touches.
Fans of Munchkin have been requesting more photos of her so this is for them! Above is Munchkin about half an hour ago eating a Mississippi Mud Pie. As you can see, she really enjoyed it!
After lunch Munchkin went for a walk in the garden with her Auntie. Hope you've had a relaxing weekend.

Inspired by Shelli

And you thought I'd left you! It's been a busy few days, with a Valentine evening on Thursday, a full day teaching on Friday as well as a party on Friday night. Phew! At last a nice quiet weekend. This is a card inspired by the Co-Founder of Stampin' Up!, Shelli Gardner. She used a slightly different colour combination. The base card is Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Perfect Plum. Yum! The stamp set is Punch Bunch (a now very familiar Sale-A-Bration set!). Only a couple of weeks left to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration!!! See the leaflet on the top left of this blog for the choice of stamps you can earn for FREE.

The large scalloped border was made using a 1" circle punch cut in half. Really simple and easy to do! Hope you get a chance to do some crafting this weekend!!

Hope your week is going well. The card above is based on one I saw on Ronda Wade's website (I think), and it was a label on a gift at a leadership meeting. I thought it was sweet so I added a different greeting: another Sale-A-Bration'd card using So Happy For You.

The original colours had Elegant Eggplant which I switched for Daffodil Delight to make it more spring-y and less Hallowe'en-ish. The other colours are Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Pear Pizzazz. The patterned papers were from the Greenhouse Gala DSP.

The Blue Angel Team is growing well and I'd like to welcome Sally W and Bev H to the Stampin' Up! family. Hooray for lovely crafters!!! If you'd like to join the team, drop me an email: blueangelcrafts@gmail.com

Bliss window

Another beautiful morning and a pretty card to match. This is another Bliss Sale-A-Bration card - I can't stop using this set!! The layout is based on one by Ronda Wade (I think) but in her version she used Just Believe. I couldn't help but SAB it up!!!
The colours are Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake with a touch of Very Vanilla.
Today we're taking it easy and I've got lots of preparation for my joint Valentine venture this Thursday night. Plenty of card is just waiting to be cut and scored!! Hope you'll be able to join me then.

New Classes to boost your creativity

I'm happy to announce new classes! You can view the new class list here. I hope there is something that appeals to you! You can email me to book your place or ask any questions: blueangelcrafts@gmail.com

I wouldn't want to leave you with no inspiration, so here is a card I CASE'd from Rhonda Wade but I switched the colour combination. To inspire the colour combination I used my trusty Color Coach. A fabulous tool which shows you a variety co-ordinating colour combinations. This combination is Rose Red, Marina Mist and Perfect Plum. Yummy!! I used Punch Bunch for the 'true friend' sentiment and the 'thanks' is from So Happy For You - both are Sale-A-Bration sets.

Waitrose inspiration

This is a photo from the Waitrose weekend magazine/newspaper. The image with the Eiffel Tower took my fancy and led to this....
It features Artistic Etchings stamp set, as well as the flower and small heart stamp from Sale-A-Bration set So Happy For You. I got really inky and even got my spritzer tool out!
We had a fun day today visiting a couple of friends who are expecting their first baby in a few weeks... really took us back and 16 months ago seems like a lifetime!!! Hope you had a relaxing weekend with family and/or friends.

This is what I have been waiting for! My gorgeous craft tote from Stampin' Up! I ordered it when I went to Convention last November and so I've been very excited about getting hands on it. I used it straight away for a party (that's why it is packed already LOL!)

Isn't it fab? The pattern is from the Greenhouse Gala DSP!! Even the green lining is patterned and fabulous! This is definately the best perk about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - being able to get exclusive kit!! If you'd like to come to Convention with me this November and see what goodies you can get, join now! The Blue Angel team has trebled in the past month and we'd love to have you join us. Email me for more information/a chat about it. blueangelcrafts@gmail.com
I couldn't leave this post without a little crafting on it, so here is the mini card I made when Diane came over the other day. It's so simple and we played with blender pens to colour the image (from Sweet Summer, Sale-A-Bration set). A small heart raised from it and a handwritten sentiment - simple but sweet.
Hope you are having a fun weekend. We're going to celebration my Sister-in-law's birthday this evening. I've not been well so I am looking forward to a trip out!

Tin of lurve

Thursday already. Today I had my new recruit, Diane, come and visit for a chat and a stamp. It was lovely to see her new creations and share ideas.

Above is a creation I've made based on one by Heather Klump. The original tin came from Waitrose and contained chocolate chunks (for cooking). Just the perfect size for altering at about 4" high.

The stamp set used is Tart & Tangy, a set I've been neglecting recently so it was nice to be making use of it again in Daffodil Delight. The heart stamps are from So Happy For You Sale-A-Bration stamp set and are stamped in Real Red to contrast with the yellow.

This is the top view. I couldn't reist decorating it too. So, another Valentine gift ready to go! Just one more decision to make... what to put inside it. Lemon sherberts maybe?

Crush Valentine

Welcome to Wednesday! Ok so I have a confession... this is not a totally original design like I promised. It's heavily inspired by another Heather Klump creation. However, being such a HUGE Conchord Crush fan, I couldn't help using it as the main colour. The other colours are Melon Mambo and Old Olive.
Yes, and more handwriting. I seem to be overcome with the need to put my messy writing on the front of cards. I'll have to get another sentiment set to put paid to that urge!
Not long until I go into College to teach but until then I am going to be sat on the doorstep waiting for a delivery... check back soon for a post showing you what I am waiting for!

Hello baby boy

Hi all. It's Tuesday and time to showcase another Punch Bunch Sale-a-bration special - a baby boy card! To be honest, it's a CASE'd card originally designed by Heather Klump. Yes, yes a TOTAL case! What can I say... I really liked her card!!

It's been a quiet day today and I've had a nice few chats with some lovely hostesses and customers. Always brightens my day as they are such a varied bunch and I never fail to learn something every time I chat to them.
I'll be back tomorrow with more (slightly more) original designs! x
