Big shot magic class

Today I ran my second Big Shot Magic class! It was good fun and I had some lovely ladies attend. The class was taken from this class by Monica Gale. I just LOVE her designs and couldn't improve them!

They really are cute, aren't they? Also, they make the most of the Big Shot dies in the Spring Mini catalogue. Plus Springtime Vintage designer papers and seam binding ribbons.

After a busy morning it's time to chill this afternoon. We're going to enjoy some time as a family before DH goes to watch the new Harry Potter film while I babysit. Enjoy your weekend!

Cover copycat

Love these colours! Obviously this isn't an original design of mine; you may recognise it from the current US Stampin' Up! catalogue. Well, that was the basic idea. My strips of Greenhouse Gala patterned paper were a little more chunky than the ones on there and I used some different embellishments.

Having been quite afraid of the giant buttons at first they are now my favourite embellishment. They are lovely to play with and make quite a statement when they are stuck onto a card. I also used markers on the stamp from Oval All to tie in the colours from the papers. The sentiment was then punched with the scalloped oval punch.

Quilted cards

Today I'm preparing for a party I am doing tonight. The theme is sewing as many of the guests are quilters. I used a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers on how to make a quilted card and here is my result.... A little amateur! The lines became a bit wonky!! I just love these Nursery Suite papers. They're so much more versatile than just for baby cards. The colour are baja breeze, regal rose, chocolate chip and so saffron. Anyhoooo I decided to have another go and below you can see my next effort:

I'm much happier with this! The papers are Sweet & Sour DSP with Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla. Such bright cheery colours. The sentiment was from Oval All which co-ordintes beautifully with the large oval and scalloped oval punches. Yum!

Anyhow, back to Make It preparations. Munchkin has been under the weather with a nasty cough recently so preparations have been much slower than I'd hope but hey ho. Not long until the show starts!

Man card

This is the card I sent as part of a cards for men swap. To be honest, compared to the ones I recevied, mine is quite plain! If you struggle to make cards for men, then you may want to attend my next class on Saturday 19th June at 1pm: Cards for Men/Boys. We'll be making some cards for all different age groups, including one that is made using the treat cups in the Spring Mini catalogue. Places are going fast!

If you have ordered from me recently then you will be receiving one of these cards very shortly. I'm really sad that Pixie Pink will be unavailable from the end of September so I am making the most of it! This patterned paper is addictive and it also features lots of colours that we are bidding farewell to shortly too.
It's been a good week so far. I've been focusing on exercise recently so today I am hoping to go running, although we'll see how that goes with the little one in tow! Then tonight I am going to try a Power Yoga class. Should be interesting.
As for monthly classes... for May I have decided to leave the class until early June as there is just too much going on for me to take proper bookings etc. So keep your eyes peeled and I'll let you know the details of the class as soon as I've got the news ready.

Vintage flowers

Isn't it great when things match?
Personally, I'm a sucker for anything that matches. I just love it! This is why I have slowly but surely worked my way through my Sweet Pea DP stack and this card is another sample made with it. The brads make the flowers "pop" even more and the sentiment stamp seems to work with the flowers on the paper. Oval All is an under-rated gem in the current catalogue.
Today I had a lovely Mother & Daughter pair over to figure the design for the daughter's wedding invitations and it was really good fun. Tomorrow is my April One Sheet Wonder class and I can't wait. Even more Vintage Vogue!!
