Summer 's back?!

This card makes it feel like summer is coming back. It's inspired by one on Pinterest but I used Summer Silhouettes as the stamp set as I didn't feel there was enough stamping on the original design!

 

As you can see there are lots of nice floral images, which I can't wait to use. The background stamping was done with the border stamp in Crumb Cake to match the base card colour.

To make the patterned card to punch out the butterfly from, I used the arched blossom cloud to create a unique patterned card in Primrose Petals. This was layered on a large scalloped Tangerine Tango circle and a piece of Primrose Petals CS.

Happy weekend! Here is a card I whipped up really quickly using my new favourite stamp set Affection Collection and the delicious International Bazaar DSP.

 

The card is heavily influenced by one I saw on the inspiration board at Convention. Here is the original design I CASE'd:

Sweet press cookie stamps

You may have read a previous post about sweet pressed cookie stamps but I've added to my collection! These ones are perfect to make as gifts for customers and I got them (guess where?!) at Convention:

 Here is a photo of Munchkin in action pressing cookies.

As soon as they came out of the oven Munchkin "helped" me get them off the tray and tried to eat them.

Having researched packaging the cookies, I saw this cute Stampin' Up! packaging idea based on kraft boxes. Sweeeeet!

Covention Make & Take 2

This collage effect card was really quick and fun to make using Affection Collection. I was able to use nearly every stamp in the set layered up with different colours. It's best to do this technique by starting with the lightest colour first.

 

Up in the corner there is a little pennant and the heart is raised up with a Dimensional.

Convention Make & Take 1

We were lucky enough to get some make & takes to do. To be honest I didn't get time to make them whilst in Germany as I was too busy socialising! I made this one the night I got back as I was desperate to stamp!!

 

This cute pouch has would suit a small packet of something, like cocoa mix or something.

The flag was stuck to a kebab stick and features Affection Collection. I ADORE this stamp set and was so pleased to receive it as part of my Convention bag. The colours used are Primrose Petals, Midnight Muse and Daffodil Delight.

This is a flower made with a strip of fabric and then it has a large scalloped circle stuck around it and the kebab stick. So sweet and could be used after the gift is received to stick in a flower pot with a nice green plant.

When I unpacked I found this photo! We arrived in the early evening and went straight down to find out what was going on. There was a cool photo booth where you could get a free print. We both look a bit tired and poor Lauren was feverish but it's great to have the memory - will definately have to scrapbook this one!!

Convention 2012 - Part 3

By the end of convention this is all the free stamp sets. Wondering why one of them is back-to-front? Well, that's because I can't share it with you right now... it is a preview from the Spring/Summer Seasonal catalogue!!!

 

 Here's a cute Christmas gift packaging idea. Isn't that sweet? Would be so cute filled with homemade sweets or biscuits as teacher/neighbour gift.

 

On the last night we went out for dinner and cocktails. Here is a traditional German strudel with Sauce, Sahne (cream) & Eis (ice cream). We had the works!!

This is a sweet layout that Shelli, the co-founder of SU, demonstrated. Isn't it sweet? Notice the little butterfly... that's a sneak peek for you! 

Of course we couldn't leave Frankfurt airport without some Frankfurters! We had it with traditional German potato salad and it was delicious!!!

Convention 2012 - Part 2

Day 1 of convetion is always soooo exciting! The theme this year was "I am". There is a really cute YouTube video made by SU that you can watch here. This is how we were introduced to the convention!

 

Here's the view from our lovely hotel window! A bit grey but lots of things to look at.

A great aspect of the Convention is SHOPPING! Yes, every girl loves to shop and stampin' Up! goodies are the best. Here are the beautiful displays they put out for us to browse:

After a busy day of learning and hearing news from Stampin' Up! it was Awards night. As it is the 5th Anniversary of Stampin' Up! being in Europe this year there was an awards ceremony before a BIG party.

Here I am all ready to go!

 We both got nicely dressed up. I was lucky enough to get TWO awards and walk across the stage twice, which was amazing! Once all the awards were done, we went onto the After Party....

 Each table was beautifully decorated. There were flower displays, old books and cute vintage teacups.

The venue was gorgeous!

There was a big 15-piece band so we all got to boogie!

As a momento there was a large card/foam cake for us to write our names and greetings on. Such a lovely way to show our appreciation for the fantastic party too.

We did get all over-excited after drinking all that juice and dancing but what a great night!!!

Here is another project that was on display that really caught my eye. It is a gorgeous paper wedding cake. Isn't it just divine?!

Convention 2012 - Part 1

So we are back from Convention 2012 in Mainz, Germany. It was a great trip and here are a few highlights:

 

Here we are at the airport. Very excited!!

Here's our dinner on the first night. We found a sort of diner which was fun. I had a glass of Prosecco on behalf my DH as it's his favourite.

Later we met up with Pip who was enjoying some traditional German beer at the hotel.

Pip's friend Dianne is actually normal sized but she looked tiny on this chair in the hotel reception area.

We were able to collect our convention bag on the first night. Look at all the great free stuff! The bag is gorgeous. We had a copy of the current catalogue, guide book, name badge with lanyard THREE giant make and take kits plus TWO stamp sets. Fantastic!!!

This is one of my favourite gifts. Pam Morgan from the SU HQ demonstrated it. Will have to give these flowers a go!

This was on the display. Isn't it gorgeous?! It's amazing what can be made with paper.

The French Business Development Manager, Jerome, made this box frame. Isn't it gorgeous! Would be a great gift.
