My lovely downlines!

Today I thought I'd share some of the creations made by my darling downline. They are a creative bunch!
First we have Amy who made me this GORGEOUS birthday card featuring Crazy for Cupcakes. She's my birthday twin so I hope she had a good day yesterday. I have a card and gift to drop off! Next we have Diane who makes fabulous cards and uses techniques that I am not great at. Her work is so inspirational to me! This card features masking which is a technique I'll have to try having seen how effective it is here. Diane used So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red and Basic Black inks. The two step bird punch makes a fantastic silhouette and then the sentiment is from Sense of Time stamp set.

Next we have Katie who also came to the training with Diane and me. Katie used Cheers to You stamp set for the drinks and sadly retired So Happy For You SAB set. Love the colours she chose as she used a very funky combination.

Another downline with a sweet website is Bev. She lives over in Reading and has some wonderful creations on her website.

ARGH! Aliens have landed!!

Here is a card that was inspired by my Convention experience. It was designed by Charlotte Harding (I believe) and features Make a Monster. A great little set that I bought in clear. The fantastic thing about clear mount are that you can stamp more than one element of the monster/alien at once.

The colours featured are Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi. Yum! Details were added with rhinetones and white gel pen.
Here is a view on the inside of the card - you were able to see the monster through the peek-a-boo hole but he looks really cute on the inside of the card! The greeting and balloon come from the set Crazy for Cupcakes - just shows you what a versatile set this is.

The planet and spaceship are all made with punches and the cropadile (for the small holes) so they were pretty quick to put together.

Grace's birthday

Today is my cousin's little girl Grace's 2nd birthday. We went to her birthday party which was just gorgeous in the sunshine. She had so many people to see she didn't know what to do first! So long as she wasn't separated from her new toy doggie she was happy!!
The card was a quick card to do. It's featuring Pretty in Pink and So Saffron on a Whisper White base. Since trying out the blender pens recently (I know, I know I got them in my starter kit when I joined SU! 18 months ago!!!) I am addicted to them. The sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds made a simple card quite eye-catching, even if I do say so myself.
The envelope had some hearts stuck onto it, also embellished with Dazzling Diamonds, as I daftly bought some envelopes with Postcode boxes in orange on the front. D'oh! So I'll have to be quite creative with my envelopes from now on to disguise the unwanted boxes. Still, I like a challenge so look out for more decorated envelopes.
The other thing that has been occupying my time this week is thinking about the project I am going to do. It's called A Week In The Life by Ali Edwards and it's a way to document a regular week so that you can 'oooh' and 'ahhh' over all those silly little details in years to come. I think my little one will like to see how she spent her time and this project is the perfect way to do it.

Blue birthday cupcake

What a week! It's been so hectic that I have been very poor at posting. However, last night I had a massive crafting session so there will be plenty to see over the next few days. The one above is one I thought would be good to keep in reserve as you could give it to men and women.
The outline was stamped with Basic Grey ink to make it a bit softer than Basic Black. The image was then painted using ink from the inkpads and the watercolour pens. It's so easy to get images to look fantastic using the exact colours. I am by no means an artist but I am happy with the results I get from this technique.
It's tricky to see but the image was finished off with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. (Maybe this makes the card a bit girly?)

Birthday Cards

It's that time of year when everyone seems to have something to celebrate. Today I've focused on birthday cards. I enjoyed playing with my new stamp set and using pens, pastels and aquapainters to colour the images. Nothing like a bit of glitter too!
