Wedding party invites

You may remember me mentioning back in February that my SIL was getting married. Well, they've done that, had the honeymoon and are now arranging the Wedding Party! I've been given the privilidge of designing the invitations for their special event and I've come up with two main ideas so far:

This first one sticks to Pool Party and Whisper White only. The sentiment comes from the gorgeous set Wedding Sweet and the rabble of butterflies is made with the embosslit Beautiful Wings. There are three tiny pearls down the centre of the largest butterfly but mainly the card is left quite clean and elegant.

This is my second design:

The base is Brushed Gold cardstock with layers of Pool Party and Whisper White. The swirl from Wedding Sweet was stamped in Crumb Cake, along with the word stamp from an old stamp set I found. To decorate I went a bit wild with Rhinestones and a couple of golden Embosslit butterflies.

Not sure which one she will like. Perhaps a combination of the two?

Here is the invitation I have sent out to all my customers over the last year, inviting them to my Catalogue Launch Party. I've slowly fallen in love with Rose Red and I think it looks great with Kraft, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla CS. The stamp set is Simply Said, one of the stamp sets with my Starter Kit, and having rediscovered it I was pleased with this result.

Now onto exciting news... My craftroom! Ok, so it's not quite finished but my lovely hubby has worked so hard. I was thrilled to be able to fill it with my stash!!

There is a pine set of drawers that need to be taken out and I've got a few details left so it will look a bit more finished soon. I'm awaiting the arrival of my magnetic blackboard and the light fitting is going to be updated too.

I'm not a great seamstress but I hope to make a curtain type thing to go along the worktop to hide the HUGE radiator. Can you believe that my amazing Dad kept the legs from our breakfast bar in our old home and they were the perfect fit for this worktop! What a hero.

Wedding Fair

Today I attended another wedding fair at the Guildford Holiday Inn. It was a great day.
I met some lovely people and was really excited to talk about weddings again. For those who I met today, you are probably wondering if you won the FREE consultation I was advertising in my prize drawer. Well the winner is..... STACEY!

Stacey was actually working at the fair with her parents and sister. I had a great time chatting to them so I was really happy when luck had it that she won. Congratulations Stacey!

Today I've got a card for you that I have seriously cased! The pink card on the left is the original. I received this card as part of a wedding invitation swap. (I feel really guilty as I cannot remember who made this card, so please let me know via the comments if you know!) Isn't it gorgeous? So I decided to make a few alterations with the design and colour etc. and the cards to the right of the pink one are the results that I and my friend Gina came up with.

Vellum is not a material I'm confident using but it gives these cards a really romantic look when layered on the Bella Toile stamped card below. Love love love this background stamp. It makes creating wedding invitations a breeze. The Certainly Celery cards that we made have layered ribbon and we used the scalloped oval punch for the sentiment. We even included a bit of white embossing (of course!)

This is what I picked from my garden this evening. I'm so excited that my plants have grown so well. I've hardly bought any veggies recently and when my tomatoes turn red I'll have to visit the supermarket even less!!

Clockwise from the top left: broad beans, courgettes, flying saucer courgette (that's what I call it anyway), swiss chard, climbing beans, purple pak choi, thyme, lemon thyme and purple sage. Yipee! This was made into my latest favourite dish - veggie gratin!! Since we've got dairy-free recently I used a little goat's cheese (Spanish Manchego) in the with the breadcrumb topping and it was just as scrummy.

Wedding Fair

Although we have been making our own wedding stationary for a while now, we have noticed that lots of people are wanting to do the same. The problem is that unless you do a fair bit of crafting already, it's how to make them that is the problem.

Also, it's great to have everything co-ordinated and this is something that Stampin' Up! excel at. We are here to help!!
