Congrats

Hooray hooray it's Saturday! Today I have a card I made at Amy's yesterday. It features the owl from the set, Fox & Friends. I stamped the image in Pear Pizzazz, Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip.

The sentiment is from the same Hostess set as yesterday. Here is a lesson: USE A STAMP-A-MA-JIG! I stamped the sentiment on to the card first time sooo wonky I had to stamp it again and punch it out so I could stick it on straight(er)!

My sister came over today and we had a lovely little trip to Farnham, predominantly to visit Maison Blanc. Love that cafe!!

Happiness Shared

A pretty little card for today! It's made with the set Happiness Shared and coloured using a blender pen with Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose ink for the bloom and Old Olive for the leaves/stems. The background stamp is Bella Toile. The sentiment is from the Level 3 hostess set, Occasional Quotes. Such a pretty hostess set and it could be yours if you host a party!

After watching the Royal Wedding I went to my downline, Amy's for a bit of cardmaking relaxation. Ruthie was there and we had a great time chatting, crafting and making her house messy!!

Monogram copycat

Just a quick one today. This was a total CASE from pg 9 of the Mini catalogue. Love the bright colour combination and it was fun to scrunch up the cardstock.

The flower is an A La Carte stamp from the main catalogue stamped in Pumpkin Pie. The sentiment comes from Thank You Kindly (pg75, main catalogue) - I used half of the sentiment and then punched it out using the Window Punch.

We had a quiet day today and it has disappeared in a flash. Time clearly flies when you're enjoying time with your family!

Fruity Fun

We're making the above project at Craft Club later this afternoon - I wonder if anyone will see this before we meet?! It uses the fab set Tart & Tangy. A really fun set that is so versatile. Some images were coloured with markers and others used ink pads. The colours are Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Rose Red and Early Espresso. A large oval was punched out of the Whisper White pillow box die cut before stamping and adhering; the hole was covered with plastic to make a window.This was our little Easter Bunny on Sunday. She spent quite a lot of time helping her Grandma in the pond! Stinky!! This is the work we've been doing on the garden - conifers removed, concrete posts holding up trellis dug out and the pond attacked with a pick-axe!

It was hot work and we were really fortunate to have family on hand to show us how it's done!!

Hello all! It's been a busy few days. Here is a sunny card to share with you. The central flower image was shown to me by Maggie at the Make It show earlier this year. You use the flower image from Ornate Flowers stamp set and colour it using markers. In this case I used Elegant Eggplant and Rich Razzleberry markers and layered the image on Elegant Eggplant card..The base card is Old Olive and has been run through the Big Shot to emboss it. Some wide grosgrain Rich Razzleberry ribbon finishes it off. This was the card that everyone made at parties I ran last month. Obviously you "pimp" the card and add bling such as brads, glitter or buttons but I quite like it kept simple.

Today I've not bee 100% and spent a lot of time resting as I've not been functioning. Guess I've been doing a bit much. Anyway, yesterday and today my parents and sister came over to work on our garden.We have a very long garde that had been neglected prior to us moving in. Two years later and we're finally tackling it!! Above you can see DH and my Mum sorting out some shredding. We've removed the conifers that lined our back wall.Due to the hot weather we all needed to cool off. Here is my Dad showing Munchkin how to eat ice lollies! Cute!!

And of course we needed lots of sun protection - Munchkin got quite attached to the cream!!

Watch out, I'm BUZZ-y

This door hanger was a cheap chipboard base I bought from my local garden centre. It was great fun using my Distressing Kit and new Botanical Gazette patterned papers to decorate it. I used the bees from another sheet of paper in the set to cut them out (I was too impatient to stamp, colour and cut) and layered with Dimensionals.

The leaves at the bottom of the piece was from Nature Walk and stamped in Always Artichoke ink. To finish there is chunky Champagne Glass Glitter along the roof and a little ribbon and a giant button! Phew. This glitter is super easy to use and since the grains are quite large you don't get it falling everywhere.

Hope you are still enjoying the heat and sunshine. Munchkin ate her first ice-lolly today! Lovely sticky fun.

Another beautiful sunny day! This card is quite masculine but I guess the sentiment looks a bit feminine!!

The colours used are Night of Navy, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. I used a little Crumb Cake for contrast that matches the delicious seam binding ribbon. Mmmm. The main image was stamped in Chocolate Chip and comes from the set, Nature Walk. A little patterned paper (Botanical Gazette) and a few Tiny Tags and voila!

We had a fantastic day out in the sunshine, playing with the chickens and eating out of doors. Lovely!

Springy Strength & Hope

Hello! It's a beautiful day and there is a sunny card here to share with you.

The colours used are So Saffron, Certainly Celery & Whisper White. I love using my Big Shot to emboss and this embossing folder, Manhatten flowers, is just so pretty. The Strength & Hope set makes creating a card easy peasy. Even better, the set gives £1 to a cancer research charity. I will be giving my commission from this set to the Farnham Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice too, so there will be money going close to home as well.

The butterfly was cut out and raised on Dimensionals and had a few basic rhinestone gems to add glitz. As there is no main sentiment you could use this set to make cards for all sorts of occasions too.

We had a great day today with my in-laws visiting (they need a regular Munchkin fix!) and we enjoyed the garden and sunshine. Hope you had a great day too!

Grace

My cousin's daughter turned three this week. Today we went to celebrate it at a family party. The card was made with Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery colours. The monkey image is from Fox & Friends and was stamped in Soft Suede and the faces were coloured using a marker in Crumb Cake. Don't you just love this alphabet set? It's called Broadsheet Alphabet and is super-useful. Finally, I added a little glitter between the monkies for added shimmer.

To match I made a little gift tag with her initial on it and punched out with the two tag punches.

We had a lovely time seeing Grace and her family all celebrating with her. Happy Birthday Gracie!

Gift/Favour box

Hello! It's Saturday and such a great day all round. This morning I had a couple of lovely ladies over to play with ideas for weddings. We made this pillow box, using the Big Shot pillow box die, and then decorated it.

The box was cut out using Rose Red and then clear embossed with Chocolate Chip ink using the Wedding Sweet set. The edges were distressed using the same colour ink and a Sponge Dauber.

The flower was punched out of Chocolate Chip CS and then scrunched up. We then separated the two layers of card to create a faux suede look and distressed the edges again. The scrummy button in the middle is from the Mini catalogue - this is a "small" one!!!

These would make lovely wedding favour or gift boxes and are really simple to make using the Big Shot.

Today we had fun at the Aldershot & Fleet rugby club and the park. So nice to just relax and enjoy being a family together - the Bank Holiday weekends are now even more keenly anticipated! Have a great weekend!!

Sew Lovely

Did ya miss me? Apologies for the gap, my camera was taken for a walk by some sticky little fingers and has only just been retrieved! To make up for it I have two projects to show you, both using Sew Lovely stamp set from the Spring Mini. The above card was totally CASE'd from SCS except that I used the ruler stamp instead of the frill that the original design had. Don't you just love those bright colours?

This card was also CASE'd and features the same stamp set, but as you can see, the look is really different. I'd never made a stepped card before and decided that I didn't need a tutorial to do make mine - BIG mistake! There are so many creases and folds it's not even funny!!!

Happy Anniversary

Saturday DH and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe it's been that long but I guess time flies when you're having fun! The above card is the same layout as I've used before that I found on Kristina Werner's site. This time I used Elegant Soiree papers and a heart punch for the focal point. I'm not 100% happy with it as I think the heart melts into the background paper too much, but as I only had the time it took DH to write his card, I don't think I did too badly!

His favourite sweeties are Haribos Tangfastics so I bought him a packet of those too but SU'd them up using a top note die as a bag topper and stamped his initials using the Broadsheet Alphabet set. To be honest it was a bit of a squeeze fitting the whole packet into a medium cello bag but since I'd started using that size I decided to just squish them down and make them fit!

So here they are together. The colours are Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and... oh I forget all of them, but they are the main ones!!

Party Photos

Yesterday was an exciting day as I was able to show off LOTS of mini catalogue goodies to my lovely customers. Below is a display that was laid out for them to browse. Instead of my usual raffle I did this Easter tree. It was made with a jug my cousin gave me from her wedding, filled with potting gravel. I cut some branches off the hazel bush and then hid the gravel with some moss.

To make the boxes I used my lovely Big Shot and pillow box die. I cut them in Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze and decorated them with Springtime Vintage DSP and seam binding ribbon.

Here are some of the ladies creatingone of the projects and below is a photo of Veronica showing off her project (I'll post photos of the projects close up soon).

It's Friday and it's also the end of term at school. Woo hoo! Such a sunny day too...

Today I've decided to show you a card that was made with a leftover kit from the Farnborough Make It! Show.The base is Concord Crush with a touch of Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Very Vanilla. The plant image in Nature Walk is just delightful to use with markers. To get the shaded look you just ink your stamp and stamp the main image. Then use the not-so-inky stamp a couple more times beside the full-colour image. Simple! Inside is a butterfly image and some text from Nature Walk. The sentiment on the front comes from Fun & Fast Notes. This set has sweet images and also nice words but you don't always want them at the same time! I used a mask so that just the words came out saying "get well soon".

All the preparations for my Mini Catalogue Launch party are done so I look forward to sharing all the Mini-loveliness with you tomorrow at St Peter's Hall!!!

Plane & Simple

Here is one for men. Plane & Simple is such an adorable set for mens' cards. It has some useful sentiments with a Fathers' Day stamp too.

This card is Night of Navy base stamped in the same colour with compass images. Then there is a simple piece of wide striped ribbon in Very Vanilla & Night of Navy. The edges of the mats have been distressed and then the aeroplane image has also been stamped in Night of Navy. Such a simple card, but very suitable for all different types of men, me thinks.

Today the weather was glorious. We even put the paddling pool up in the garden! Hope you've had a chance to sit and relax in the sunshine.

Kind Thanks

Morning! It's a bright and sunny day and already Munchkin and I have been very productive! The colours in the this card suit the weather - bright and vibrant!! There is a Melon Mambo base with a Whisper White topnote cut on the Big Shot. Next I ran different scraps of card through the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. The colours are Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi. The embosslits allow you to make the most of every scrap of cardstock and patterned; hopefully this means my bulging scraps box will diminish soon... The greeting is stamped in Early Espresso onto Wild Wasabi and then punched out using the Modern Label Punch. Although this is a thank you card it would be equally good as a birthday, hello or thinking of you card. Hope you are out enjoying the weather. We're going out in the garden shortly to see the chickens and do a bit of tidying. See you soon!

Springtime Vintage Box

It's Tuesday! Today was I day where I just didn't know what day it was all day. It may have been something to do with Munchkin's 3 hour nap!! Very confusing to have so much time to myself. Anyway back to the crafting... Here is a box that I bought and covered in the scrumptious Springtime Vinetage DSP. Love that patterned paper!!! The lid is covered with one side of the paper and the base of the box is using the reverse. Easy and simple co-ordination.

The top of the box has a piece of Pear Pizzazz CS that has been embossed with the Polka Dot embossing folder. Layered on that is a Rose Red stamped and punched image that was from Four Frames. The central flower image was punched using the large oval punch and cut from another design of Springtime Vintage papers.

Yum yum button. These buttons are just HUGE. So they make a gorgeous embellishment on such a busily patterned base. The button and seam binding ribbon are both Rose Red.

For my mother

Hello and welcome to another exciting week! Above is a card I made for my brother to give my Mum yesterday for mothers' day. As he only asked me about 12 hours beforehand this is what I came up with. It's made with yummy shimmer cardstock and has a strip of Rich Razzleberry patterned paper from the amazing value Pattern Stacks. The stamp is from the set, Nature Walk, which is a fabulous set. This particular stamp is perfect for marker to stamp colouring. This is where you use the brush tip of your marker to colour different parts of the rubber with colours so that you get a multi-coloured stamped image. I'd daftly left my Mothers Day stamp with one of my downline so I used the marker's fine tip to handwrite a greeting. Mounted the stamped image onto Rich Razzleberry CS and added a couple of pearls and voila! Today has been a quiet day of relaxing as we had a busy weekend. Boring jobs like washing, cleaning and tidying up were done, as well as a quick walk to Tuneful Tots. Fab! Tomorrow will be a day of baking in preparation for my Mini Catalogue Launch Party on Saturday!!

Mothers Day

It's Mothers Day! Only the second one I've had as a Mum and I've been totally spoilt.

Here is the card that I created for my Mum, which was made in about 10 minutes using my Big Shot! I used the topnote die and some Sunny Garden papers and then the Beautiful Butterflies die to create the big gorgeous butterfly. Some pearls and a handwritten sentiment and there you are!Next I made this little treat for my Mum. It's using the Topnote die (again) and a cello bag filled with chocolate mints. I cut the die with Peach Parfait CS and then stamped it with the butterfly from Clearly For You. Then you just adher the bag to the topper. Easy!Here is Munchkin eating her lunch today. She's quite a fan of chicken drumsticks!!

This is the fabulous card she made me with her own little fingerpainting! Cute. I can tell she's sooo going be playing with me in my craftroom before long!!

If you'd like to place an order, please email me blueangelcrafts@gmail.com Anyhoooo onto my project that I've created to share with you today:It started with a plain wooden house frame that I painted with primer and then spritzed and daubered to my heart's content with Soft Suede ink. Then I used the Nature Walk stamp set and co-ordinating DSP to create the bases and use many stamps to make "fillings" for the rectangles. Below are some more close-up pictures of the detail. In addition to Nature Walk, I've used Artistic Etchings for the embossed key image, Clearly For You and the butterfly in the charity set, Strength & Hope. Yes, yes, I really went to town with all the new goodies! You can see some of the Champagne chunky glass glitter and a beveled window on the raspberry image. Yummy!
