Berry Good

Now for something fruity! It's been so sunny lately that I've been feeling summery!! I needed to make some cards for the ladies who ordered at my Mini Launch party last month so I thought this was just the ticket.

The stamp set is that old favourite, Tart & Tangy. Such a fabulous set and I just love using markers to colour in the different parts of the fruit. I used Real Red and Old Olive and I hope it doesn't look too Christmas-y? I always associated that combination with that but I think I got away with it!

Fruity Fun

We're making the above project at Craft Club later this afternoon - I wonder if anyone will see this before we meet?! It uses the fab set Tart & Tangy. A really fun set that is so versatile. Some images were coloured with markers and others used ink pads. The colours are Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Rose Red and Early Espresso. A large oval was punched out of the Whisper White pillow box die cut before stamping and adhering; the hole was covered with plastic to make a window. This was our little Easter Bunny on Sunday. She spent quite a lot of time helping her Grandma in the pond! Stinky!! This is the work we've been doing on the garden - conifers removed, concrete posts holding up trellis dug out and the pond attacked with a pick-axe!

It was hot work and we were really fortunate to have family on hand to show us how it's done!!

Tin of lurve

Thursday already. Today I had my new recruit, Diane, come and visit for a chat and a stamp. It was lovely to see her new creations and share ideas.

Above is a creation I've made based on one by Heather Klump. The original tin came from Waitrose and contained chocolate chunks (for cooking). Just the perfect size for altering at about 4" high.

The stamp set used is Tart & Tangy, a set I've been neglecting recently so it was nice to be making use of it again in Daffodil Delight. The heart stamps are from So Happy For You Sale-A-Bration stamp set and are stamped in Real Red to contrast with the yellow.

This is the top view. I couldn't reist decorating it too. So, another Valentine gift ready to go! Just one more decision to make... what to put inside it. Lemon sherberts maybe?

Juicy card

This is a little acetate card I whipped up using some old Pumpkin Pie DSP. The scalloped circle is on the top of the acetate and the patterned paper is on the inside of the acetate folded card. This tart & tangy stamp set is so versatile and I loved experimenting with layering on the acetate.
The words are from the 'sweet little baby' sentiment but I just stamped the word sweet by inking it using a marker. The word window gives the simple sentiment a tidy look. Not sure how I managed without that punch!
Today is movie afternoon with some other mummies as Immy has been unwell (teething maybe?) so not sure how much crafting will be done... maybe this evening I will get my head down as it's only 48 hours til the very last minute craft fair that I am doing with a friend! Not to mention my Open House is in 2 weeks time on the 10th & 11th April 1-4pm - contact me to register your place if you would like to come by they way - so life is likely to stay hectic for a while yet.

Apple thanks

Another notelet card! This one is using a Very Vanilla notelet, some cute red gingham ribbon and my favourite Tart & Tangy stamp set. Simple yet effective, no?

Juicy summer cards

Here are a couple of juicy cards I made this afternoon. I wanted to make something using my nice patterned papers, and I certainly used some here!!

I learnt the style of card from the Stamp With Us retreat a few weeks ago, but the design is so versatile that it can be used for any occasion, not just Christmas cards.

Gifts

Here are some more pictures from the last weekend. The package with the butterfly on it was a gift from the 'pillow fairy'. Although I didn't stay over for the retreat I was presented with this the next morning. It looks so sweet! It's a candle on a tile. The tile has been stamped with a Fresh Cuts stamp in brown Staz On ink.

The other photo shows a project we made on Sunday. It's a box set of hand scrub and foot scrub. We even had a demo of how to make the scrubs before we constructed our boxes. I can't wait to make some more of these as gifts this winter.

June Already

Have had a whirlwind going on around me which has meant I've not posted. Since my last post I have got married, moved house, been ill for a month and had my 20 week scan on my bump! So apologies for not posting sooner but you can see that I've had some things going on that have distracted me.
The good news is that I am back on form. So this past week I have done lots of crafty projects that I'd been putting off for too long. My goal this summer is to make as much as possible as I am sure when the baby comes I won't have much time to dedicate to crafting for a few more months. It wasn't until I moved house and got myself a HUGE crafting room that I realised just how much craft stuff I had accumulated. It's a lot.
Having said that I am keen to book lots of parties as I think it'll be healthy to get out the house and have some time with adults before I lose my marbles. I've already got a few days booked so hurry if you want

Open House Success!

Today I held my first Open House event, which I am pleased to report was really successful. The photos on this post show you the cards everyone made. I've had lots of interest in the classes I've arranged (details on those to follow), a booking for another party and some sales which is great since the wedding and house move are now both less than 6 weeks away!

I met some lovely people who I hope to see again and I'm back into the crafting 'groove'!!
