Welcome Harry

On Friday 2nd December my dear friend gave birth to her second son. This is the card I made her. It's a Bashful Blue base and I free-hand stamped Harry's name repeatedly in Bashful Blue ink using Just Perfect Alphabet stamps.

The central image is from Button Buddies and was stamped in Bashful Blue and Versamark ink. I then added Heat & Stick powder and finished it off (after heating the glue) with some Dazzling Diamonds. This panel was layered onto Night of Navy card to bring the eye straight to the centre of the card.

We were lucky enough to visit Harry when he was just 6 days old and he is a total cutie!

Cute as a button

Hello and happy Wednesday. Here is my entry to the HSSBC #74 where the theme is buttons.

I love the Sew Suite stamp set to make a faux packet of buttons and used the co-ordinating paper. Then I used my alphabet stamps to stamp my own sentiment. Aren't alphabet stamps great? It's so nice to have the flexibility to choose ANY sentiment.

This is a project I've had going on for a while. I really wanted it to be a video but our camera has gone bonkers so I'm not able to upload it. However, the sweet little book is really fun to make. It is constructed from a single sheet of A4. I'm so proud as it is my own design!

It's basically a sheet of A4 cut into four strips and scored to be folded into a mini book. It's just the right size for those small photos you can have printed where you get 4 prints per 4"x6" print.

Perfect as a brag book for grandparents or to show a few important family photos in your handbag...

Here is another example. The top one was made with Play Date papers and the one just above now was made from Blueberry Crisp papers.

Here's the pair together. Hope you like and maybe you'll give it a try? If you do I'd love to see how you decorate yours.

Passion for Fashion

This is my entry into the Daring Cardmakers Challenge this week. The challenge is to make a card with the theme of FASHION. It was a great excuse to get my Sew Lovely stamp set out (from the Spring Mini Catalogue) and get stamping! This is a great challenge as this stamp set has been sorely overlooked by me lately.

There is the matching DSP with buttons and I used these colours to stamp the letters for the title. Then layers were added with border punches and a sweet little Chocolate Chip button. All super cute!!

Hope you're having a fun weekend. DH went to watch a rugby match at Twickenham so Munchkin and I had fun shopping.

TGIF Challenge

Hello hello! It's Tuesday and I'm already dreaming of the weekend!! Still, I made this card for my Aunt which has pepped me up. She lives in France so I wanted something special to send as I can't be there to help her celebrate.

I made up the dimensions on the card and cut/scored pretty randomly. Then I layered Pear Pizzazz (green), Rose Red and Crumb Cake card, as well as some scrummy flowery Springtime Vintage DSP. Some of the card was run through my Big Shot embossing folders for added texture. I finished off the design with some cut out stamped images from Nature Walk (found in the in Spring Mini) and sweet pearls (for the Irridescent part)

This card is being entered int he the Stampin' B's Design Team challenge - TGIF, which stands for Texture, Green, Irridescent & something beginning with F. Hope you like!

My Baby is One!

Yesterday was Immy's first birthday. I really cannot believe a whole year has passed! Unfortunately DH and I both had to work so we didn't see the Munchkin much but we thoroughly enjoyed every minute in her company. She's soooo much fun nowadays.

This is the card that I made for my lil one. It's Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi and Certainly Celery. A bit Halloween-y, but I guess it is the season for it. My Just Perfect Alphabet helped me to make a personalised message, which I punched out with a 3/4" circle punch.
The darling was given a huge array of pretty presents and I wanted to send out thank yous asap. I used my All in the Family set to make a little picture of Immy! I stamped in Basic Black and then coloured it in with my In Color markers in Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Conchord Crush and Blushing Bride (cheeks).
I'm in love with my new sentiment set, Curly Cute, and got stamping in White Craft ink for a simple greeting. The fantastic thing about this card is that I get 4 from each A4 sheet of Poppy Parade card. I just cut 3" chunks off width-ways to make tent fold cards. Easy peasy.
