Starting Owlets

When Munchkin started preschool in September I took lots of photos. The uniform is so darned cute that I was powerless to resist. We snapped pictures in the garden, driveway and at school.

 

The Orchard Harvest papers came into play, like yesterday, and explain the season. These papers are perfect for start of school type pages as they're quite bright and the leaves are very detailed.

Father & Son

Here is a photo I snapped of my FIL and DH one sunny day when we were on a miniture train at Frimley Lodge Park. I love the picture so it made sense to scrapbook it.

The papers are from the Autumn/Winter seasonal catalogue and are called Orchard Harvest. There's no real journalling but it would be easy enough to add if required. I always think the photo says everything, personally.

September Scrap club

Last night was scrapbook club. I LOVE this monthly class. Such interested talented people attend!

This layout was based around the journalling box. We learnt to brayer an ombre background, this one was in Poppy Parade.

The patterned spotty background paper comes from the specialty papers Mocha Morning. LOVE these papers and I'm sad that they are retiring :-( This was paired with Concord Crush and Crumb Cake. The title was stamped using the Broadsheet Alphabet stamp set. It's great as when it's in clear as you can stick all the letters in a row on a long block and stamp the whole word in one go.

Good Luck card from Amy

Last week I left my teaching job that I've had for the last 4 years so I can concentrate on new things. My lovely friend Amy made me this cute card. Such a funky colour combination: Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry.

The letters were stamped using the Broadsheet Alphabet stamp set and then punched out using a circle punch and layered with a same sized circle in a contrasting colour. By using a consistent colour palette Amy has made this card look really chic. The rhinestones add the perfect finishing touch.

So thanks Amy for the lovely card!!

Scrapbook club: April

Morning! Last night was scrapbook club. It was lovely to focus on creating a page as I've taken lots of photos recently.



The page was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest which looked like photo booth strips. It was a chance to dig through my scraps box and make use of them. The stamp sets used are Broadsheet Alphabet and Creative Elements.

It's a Smash Up

For those who enjoy keeping momentos, receipts, clippings etc a Smash Up journal is perfect!



You can learn how to make own Stampin' Up! version of the smash book craze at my class on Saturday 6th August. My front cover is plain but I'm hoping to jazz mine up at the class. I've called mine a Smash Up and is the perfect project to keep holiday journalling/memories or as an everyday place to jot inspiration, the everyday and ideas. Great as a gift or you may want to treat yourself!

Today I've been a bit poorly - I'm currently still in bed blogging from my phone. Sore throat, aches and pains. Fortunately DH has been a star and he's even been checking on my greenhouse! Hope you're having a relaxing weekend.

Passion for Fashion

This is my entry into the Daring Cardmakers Challenge this week. The challenge is to make a card with the theme of FASHION. It was a great excuse to get my Sew Lovely stamp set out (from the Spring Mini Catalogue) and get stamping! This is a great challenge as this stamp set has been sorely overlooked by me lately.

There is the matching DSP with buttons and I used these colours to stamp the letters for the title. Then layers were added with border punches and a sweet little Chocolate Chip button. All super cute!!

Hope you're having a fun weekend. DH went to watch a rugby match at Twickenham so Munchkin and I had fun shopping.

Welcome baby George!

On Monday my cousin had her second baby, George. It's very exciting as her pregnancy wasn't all that easy so we're very glad to hear all is well. I made this box (above) for her. It contains a little frame so she can have a picture of each child in it. The box is based on the pizza box design but I had to make it bigger to accomodate the contents.

Then a card to match was needed. This is a card I CASE'd from my upline's training session a few months ago. I missed the training but she showed the card on her blog. I adapted the card from pink/girly to blue/masculine.

The card has a fancy fold and then punches were used to make a small tug-along train with animals from Fox & Friends. I used the Nursery Suite papers and Curly Cute sentiment. I'm taking it along to see her later so I hope she likes it!

Pretty Place Settings

My Aunt is visiting from France and has asked me to design her some place settings for her upcoming 50th Birthday celebration. Here is what I came up with! You can see the original design for the place setting on pg42 of the main catalogue.

Above, this was a Real Red base and I used my Broadsheet Alphabet to do an initial in Pumpkin Pie ink. The butterflies were done on my Big Shot - this die is AMAZING! It cuts AND embosses the butterflies at the same time!!

Here I used an Old Olive base with a paper daisy, ruffled satin Whisper White ribbon and some chunky Baja Breeze glass glitter.

The Rich Razzleberry base had Melon Mambo flowers added and I used the sweet punch, Boho Blossoms, to make the little surrounding flowers; each has a Basic Rhinestone in the centre. The base stamp used was Bella Toile.

Lastly there is this one. The Boho Blossoms punch was used again, but also the five petal flower punch in Marina Mist. This time I used pearls in the centre.

Hope she likes them! Will find out tonight as we're hosting a BBQ and she is coming along.

Monogram copycat

Just a quick one today. This was a total CASE from pg 9 of the Mini catalogue. Love the bright colour combination and it was fun to scrunch up the cardstock.

The flower is an A La Carte stamp from the main catalogue stamped in Pumpkin Pie. The sentiment comes from Thank You Kindly (pg75, main catalogue) - I used half of the sentiment and then punched it out using the Window Punch.

We had a quiet day today and it has disappeared in a flash. Time clearly flies when you're enjoying time with your family!

Grace

My cousin's daughter turned three this week. Today we went to celebrate it at a family party. The card was made with Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery colours. The monkey image is from Fox & Friends and was stamped in Soft Suede and the faces were coloured using a marker in Crumb Cake. Don't you just love this alphabet set? It's called Broadsheet Alphabet and is super-useful. Finally, I added a little glitter between the monkies for added shimmer.

To match I made a little gift tag with her initial on it and punched out with the two tag punches.

We had a lovely time seeing Grace and her family all celebrating with her. Happy Birthday Gracie!
